What is Beconase


Beconase contains beclometasone dipropionate, a corticosteroid nasal spray that works by reducing inflammation inside the nasal passages. Unlike antihistamines, which block histamine after it is released, Beconase acts at the root of the allergy process, helping to prevent symptoms from developing in the first place.

It is commonly used to relieve nasal symptoms linked to seasonal hay fever (allergic rhinitis) as well as year-round allergies triggered by dust mites, mould, or pets.

By targeting the nose directly, Beconase provides fast and effective relief from sneezing, congestion, itching, and a runny nose. When used daily during allergy season, it offers all-day protection and is suitable for ongoing use to keep symptoms under control.

Directions

  • Adults aged 18 and over: Two sprays into each nostril twice daily (maximum 8 sprays per day)
  • Once symptoms are controlled, dosage may be reduced to one spray per nostril twice daily
  • Shake the bottle before each use
  • Use regularly during allergy season for best results
  • It may take 2–3 days of consistent use to feel the full effect

Side Effects

  • Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) – symptoms include swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing, or a sudden rash. This is extremely rare but requires immediate medical attention.
